After the Ceremony – How It Flows

You can simply enjoy your day — I will guide the structure so everything flows naturally and no one is missed.

1. Exit & First Moments (2–5 minutes)

Immediately after you are announced as husband and wife, I focus on natural, candid moments:

• Your exit as newlyweds

• Confetti or petal toss

• First hugs

• Parents’ reactions

• Guest congratulations

At this stage, nothing is organised or directed.

These are genuine, emotional moments captured as they unfold.

2. One Large Group Photo (Approx. 5 minutes)

Before guests move on to drinks, I gather everyone for one beautiful full group photograph.

I usually say:

“Can I please have everyone for one big group photo?”

We take 2–3 frames, and then guests are free to enjoy the celebration.

This works best because:

• Everyone is still present

• No one has disappeared to the bar

• No important guest is missed

3. Family Portraits – Structured & Efficient (15–20 minutes)

Family photographs are organised immediately after the full group photo.

I always work from larger to smaller groupings to keep everything smooth and efficient.

The structure:

1. Couple with both families together

2. Couple with the bride’s family

3. Couple with the groom’s family

4. Couple with each set of parents

5. Individual parent portraits

• Bride with mum

• Bride with dad

• Groom with mum

• Groom with dad

6. Couple with siblings

7. Couple with grandparents

8. Any additional combinations (just let me know on the day and I will photograph them)

Why this structure works:

• Elderly relatives can be released first

• No one is moving back and forth

• No important person is forgotten

To make this seamless, I kindly ask:

• Please send me a short list of your desired group combinations in advance. I prefer to have a printed list with me on the day.

• Please nominate a “family coordinator” (a sibling, bridesmaid, close friend, etc.) who can help gather people for group photos.

Kindly let me know who this person will be.

This keeps everything calm, efficient and stress-free.

4. Friends & Wedding Party (5–10 minutes)

After family portraits, we photograph:

• Couple with bridesmaids

• Couple with groomsmen

• Separate girls / boys groups

• A fun full wedding party photo

This part is quick, relaxed and full of energy.

5. Short Couple Portraits (10–20 minutes)

I usually suggest:

• A short portrait session straight after the ceremony

• A second session later in the day, often at sunset

This allows us to capture different light and atmosphere.

Structured Group Photography

After the ceremony, we organise the group photographs in a clear and structured way so everything runs smoothly and no one important is missed. The order that works beautifully is:

1. Everyone together (full group photo)

2. Couple with both sets of parents

3. Couple with bride’s parents

4. Couple with groom’s parents

5. Couple with immediate family (parents and siblings)

6. Couple with siblings only

7. Couple with grandparents (if present)

8. Couple with witnesses / best man and maid of honour

9. Couple with bridal party

10. Couple with extended family

11. Couple with friends

We then continue with smaller groups, individual family photographs, couples, and individual portraits with the bride and groom if you wish.

If possible, I would be very grateful if you could kindly ask one of your guests to help gather people for the group photographs on the day. This makes the process much quicker and more comfortable for everyone.

It would also be incredibly helpful if you could provide me with a written list of the family groupings you would like for your photos. This ensures we clearly understand your wishes, avoid missing anyone important, and capture everything exactly as you envision.
